The Bible tells us that Jesus prayed. He gave his disciples a model prayer and it is recorded that Jesus often went out to a quiet place to pray. The description of the early Christian Church in the Acts of the Apostles records that one of the things which the followers of Jesus were devoted to was prayer.

As Christians we are therefore encouraged to follow the example of Jesus and develop an individual prayer life. However, we also believe in corporate prayer-praying together and at all our Church meetings we will pray.

We have also set aside a specific time in the week- Wednesdays at 9.15 to around 10am in the Somerset room at the Velmore Centre for those who are able to come. This is a time to pray for the works and encouragement of Velmore Church in the service of God and for specific needs of folk that are known to us.
